How we make money
ProofColumn is free to read. Three things pay for it, and all three are labelled where they appear.
1. Affiliate links
When a tool has a partner program we can join, the "Visit" button on its page is an affiliate link. If you sign up through it, the vendor may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes a listing: the price, the data policy, the SOC 2 line and the order inside filters are the same whether or not a tool pays.
Right now 1 of 62 listings use an affiliate link. The rest link straight to the vendor with a campaign tag so we can see which pages people use.
2. Sponsorships and featured listings
Vendors can buy a labelled newsletter slot, a category banner, or a featured placement. Every paid placement says "Sponsored". Sponsors get no editorial control, no data changes and no reordering inside a filter. See Sponsor for what is available.
3. The rules we keep
- No star ratings, no pay-for-ranking, no hidden placements.
- If a sponsor ever asks us to soften a finding, we say no and we say so publicly.
- Every listing links to the vendor page each field came from, so you can check us.
- Corrections are free and always published when the vendor's own page supports them.
